For businesses, the growth of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to work concept represents a real challenge when it comes to ensuring that all the workforce has the software, access and policies required to be productive whatever the device they use to get the job done. This is where IBM Endpoint Manager for Mobile Devices comes in.
As Eric Geller explains in this demo, you can now hook IBM Endpoint Manager to to more than just desktops, laptops and servers. You can now manage and retrieve system information from mobile devices: recording inventory, GPS location information, granular policy administration and more.
You can create groups so that policies regarding wi-fi access, passwords or software updates can be managed and deployed at scale with minimal user interaction. Once an employee has the Endpoint app installed, you can push apps, wipe the device or enforce a new password, all without any interaction from the end user. Pretty cool stuff.
