Yahoo to finally catch up with Google’s ad relevance

looks like this could be in place by the end of the year:

Yahoo has apparently released a test version of a new search advertising monetization model in Scandinavia and will roll it out to the U.K. in July, reports Forbes.com (via MarketingPilgrim). Similar to Google’s ranking of ads both by bid amount and by ad relevance, Yahoo’s model, codenamed "Project Panama," is intended to increase click-through rates. A U.S. rollout is expected in late 2006 or early 2007.
